Q. Why I should I hire a professional photographer or videographer?
A. Professional photographers & videographers have the necessary skills and experience to take high-quality photos. They combine their technical knowledge with their artistic sensibilities to create photos or video work that tell a story and capture a moment from a time once lived. With access to high-quality equipment and a great understanding of lighting & angles, you are guaranteed quality for your money.
In regards to hiring a professional photographer or videographer for your wedding day or portrait session, the most important benefit is that all your loved ones will be together in the photos or video. You can live in the moment, your memories will be more vivid, and you still have those memories captured to last a lifetime.
Q. What type of photography & videography do you do?
A. As a photographer & videographer, I do a little of everything. From weddings, couples & family photography, to commercial & editorial, I offer services in all areas. With excellent knowledge in lighting, directing, editing and running my own business, I am incredibly passionate about my craft and remain professional throughout all the projects I work on.
I am a first-class fashion photography graduate, with lots of experience shooting weddings, portraiture, events, commercial & editorial photo and video work. I am incredibly detail-orientated, with a great flair for creativity. From our first conversation to delivering your final product, I will ensure that your desired outcome is achieved.
Q. Do you work beyond the south of England?
A. Yes, I’m very happy to travel to other parts of the UK and even beyond. Depending on the destination, I may charge travel expenses.
Q. Can we customise the packages?
A. Yes you can, absolutely! There is the option to add various products and add additional shooting & editing time. Let me know your specific requirements and I can cater a package just for you!
Q. How much editing do you do?
A. Every photograph or video clip is individually hand-edited to ensure that they have the best exposure, contrast, tone, etc. In regards to the software I use, I have access to the full Adobe Creative Suite. Some examples of the programs I use are Lightroom, Photoshop, InDesign, & Premiere Pro.
For editorial work, I am skilled in high-end editing techniques and skin re-touching, removing spots/blemishes, without changing the texture of your skin. For portraiture & weddings, I will, where possible, remove any noticeable minor blemishes.
Q. Are you insured?
A. Yes, I’m insured for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity and can provide a copy of the policy if you would like one.
Q. Do you use a contract?
A. Yes, a formal agreement helps everyone to understand what is expected of each party.
Q. How much will our deposit be?
A. I charge a flat rate of £200 as a booking fee and the balance is due 30 days before your wedding day.
Q. How do we get our images?
A. Unless otherwise agreed, your images are sent on a memory stick by Royal Mail.
Q. How long will it take for us to receive our images?
A. All images are hand finished and I send the final collection in both colour and monochrome seven to fourteen days after your wedding day unless previously advised. All of my wedding photography packages include a complimentary selection of six postcard-size fine art prints.
Q. What can we do with our images. Can we share and print etc?
A. I give you my non-exclusive license to use your images for your own personal use, which includes digital sharing and traditional print. In the unlikely event that you would like to use one or more of your photographs for commercial purposes please contact me as these things are easily worked out.
Q. Will you use any of our images on your website and social media?
A. It’s very helpful for other couples to see recent photographs. I use a small selection from some of my wedding day shoots but will obtain your approval before publication.
Q. How do you safeguard against technical failure on our wedding day?
A. I take a minimum of two camera bodies and a selection of lenses and storage cards to every wedding. My cameras take two memory cards and I make ‘carbon copies’ of every shot. All of which means that there is back up kit on hand should the worst happen.
Q. Can our guests take photographs?
A. Yes, of course they can!
Q. We know that you can’t control the weather, but will we still get some nice photos if the weather is poor?
A. It’s very rare that it rains the whole day, so I work with couples outside when it’s dry and indoors when the weather is against us. I also bring umbrellas and a large, battery-operated, studio light which gives plenty of light if natural light is low.
Q. What is your refund and cancellation policy?
A. I will do my utmost to re-schedule wherever possible, but when this isn’t possible I apply a sliding scale of refunds. Full details are included in my T&C’s.
